About Sahasrara Chakra 

MEANING: “Thousand Petaled Lotus”.

LOCATION: Crown of head.

ELEMENT: Consciousness, thought, beyond time & space.

COLOR: Violet and/or white.

PURPOSE: Awakening, union with the Divine, understanding.

DEMON: Attachment, ignorance.

EXCESSIVE: Disconnection from Earthly reality, spiritual addiction, overly intellectual.

DEFICIENT: Disconnection from Spirit, cynical, close-minded.

PRINCIPLE: Universal & Spiritual Awareness.

CORE VALUE: Wisdom.

GOALS: Enlightenment; Satchidananda (Absolute Truth, Absolute Consciousness, Absolute Bliss.)

First Step

Sit comfortably – on a chair, or on the floor in a cross-legged position.

Hands in lap, left hand on top of right, palms facing up.

Scan your body – with your awareness, feel your body starting from your toes, working up the legs, through hips and torso, up the arms, into the shoulders, neck and head.

Be aware of how it feels.

Imagine a bright white light, which contains all the colours that we can see, and visualise it all around you, expanding infinitely in every direction.

Silently repeat – “I am surrounded by Divine Light.”

Feel it’s presence.

Sit with this image and mantra for a few minutes.

Notice how it makes you feel physically and emotionally.

 

Second Step

Bring more awareness to the crown of your head and at that point visualise a thousand petal lotus flower.

See this white light channelling down through the crown chakra (Sahasrara) into your body, see it filling you up and radiating out of your whole being and back up through the top of your head.

Silently repeat – “I am Divine Love and Light.”

Sit with this image and mantra for a few minutes.

Notice how you feel.

 

Third Step

See and feel this inner and outer light.

Feel the connection and merging of the two.

Lose the identification with the self and your body and feel the absorption with consciousness.
Silently repeat – “I am Divine Consciousness.”

Sit with this image and mantra for a few minutes.
Notice how you feel.

 

Fourth Step

Close this practice with one vocalised chant of “Om”. 

Make sure you sound out all syllabus “aaa” (deep chest sound vibration) “ooo” (throat sound vibration) “mmm” (head/face sound vibration).  When you feel the sound resonance, feel and hear that as the primordial sound of the Universe.

Feel that integration of your sound vibration and the vibration of consciousness.

I am Divinely guided and inspired.

I trust my intuition.

I am open to Divine inspiration

I am at one with the Universe.

I live my life through my higher self.
